If there is one thing I believe in, then it has to be ensuring that my body is filled with the healthy nutrients and vitamins on a daily basis and what better way to achieve that than with a delicious fruit smoothie. Most people often get excited when they hear the word smoothie because immediately the thought of a sweet delicious smoothie such as chocolate or bubblegum flavoured smoothie comes to mind. However, these type of smoothies don’t exactly fall under the healthy smoothie category, this is because in most cases these types of smoothies contain a large amount of sugar and fat. Now trust me, I am not saying that smoothies have to taste disgusting to in order for them to qualify as being healthy, no not at all. A good healthy smoothie all lies in the ingredients you choose for your smoothie, adding ingredients such as healthy fats and proteins can give you the desired results.

Now let us look at some fruits and proteins that contain a lower sugar count:

When using fruit that contain a lower sugar count it’s always a good idea to go for the frozen variety such as berries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, they are well known when it comes to a lower sugar count as it is often used in smoothies there are also other fruits such as grapefruits, pears, bananas and papayas, another good idea is including some ice cubes to help you get that thick, frosty smoothie. When looking for proteins to add most people like to add greek yogurt, almond proteins, soy proteins egg white and peanuts, even protein powders such as Whey can be a really good idea.

Some liquids that can be also be added to your smoothie are coconut milk, a little bit of juice just to get some flavor in however, be sure to be aware of the of other sweeteners.

Most people also wonder if smoothies can be good for us, well let’s look at some benefits of having a healthy smoothie.

Fruit smoothies are a good way of adding more fruits to your diet, people on a healthy diet often have a problem with getting all the nutrients and vitamins that their body needs in on a daily basis therefore, with a smoothie it is made easier to get all those nutrients and vitamins in the body at ease and it’s easier to make as well. Fruits are also known to be high in carbs which provides the body and mind with the energy it needs to function at its best throughout the day as this energy can last for hours. Fruits are also filled with various vitamins and nutrients and I cannot stress enough how important they are to our bodies and a fruit smoothie is just what you need helps the body get what it requires.

It improves the digestive system, we all know how difficult and frustrating it can be for people to deal with constipation. And having a healthy smoothie helps with this as the blender does all the chewing for you allowing your body to digest your food at ease.

It is known to be a good way to build muscles by ensuring your body is provided with all the nutrients it requires in order to perform at its best during a workout and after a workout, this is because consuming a smoothie is always easier to digest than eating all that food at once thus, not missing out on any nutrients your body needs.

It also plays a good role when strengthening your immune system as all the nutrients and vitamins that its filled with reduces the number of times you get sick.

And finally ladies you will be happy to know that what goes in into your body reflects on the outer appearance, with all this nutrients and vitamins supplied to your body it will leave your skins hair and nails looking absolutely amazing.
